SportsKPI is delighted to bring to you a Kabaddi Hackathon in collaboration with Pro Kabaddi League giants Haryana Steelers in what is a first-of-its-kind initiative. We have been assisting the Steelers as their sole analytical partner since PKL 8 and we dissect everything that goes on on the mat, to provide accurate opposition as well as player performance analysis. To go with the action on the mat in the PKL, we also aid them with scouting for talent around the country and building their all-important auction strategy.

We now provide you with an opportunity to show off your tactical nous when it comes to the beautiful game. Registrations for the hackathon, which is set to commence on 7th Nov , are open now for one and all till 12th Nov 2022, but only as individuals. Here’s all that you need to know about this rare opportunity to present your ideas to the best in the business in Kabaddi analytics and potentially walk away with INR 1 Lakh!

Problem statement:

Analytically design an opposition strategy for the Haryana Steelers to gain an upper hand on the mat.  You can choose a minimum of 3 opponents and a max of up to 11.

• Data collection for tracking data and how it can be implemented (Image processing)

Task:

Create a solution that involves:

• New Information on the selected problem area
• A solution to the problem and how it will impact the overall development
• How it can be used
• How it can be implemented
• Future scope

 Submission format:

• Idea submission
• Idea title
• Idea description
• Problem statement or selected theme

Winners

Round 1: Open to all to submit their idea on the problem statement. 10 winners will be shortlisted for Round 2.

Round 2: 10 shortlisted winners will interact with the Haryana Steelers Analyst in a closed discussion during the PKL 9 season where they will share their analysis. One participant out of the ten shall be selected as the ultimate winner.

Prizes:

One Winner (Round 1): INR 25,000 Cash Prize

Ten shortlisted participants (Round 1): Tickets + Merchandise

One Winner (Round 2):  INR 75,000 Cash Prize + Merchandise

• Haryana Steelers and SportsKPI hold the right to disqualify any participant at any stage of the competition if the participant(s) are deemed to be acting fraudulently.
